Stop Filling Your Cat's Bowl - The Homerunpet Smart Pet Feeder Does It For You - Our Review 😻

Over the past few years now, our lives have been getting more and more automated. And some of the new inventions that are coming out are really great and help make your life easier.

One of these products is the new WifFi-enabled Smart Pet Feeder from our friends over at Homerunpet, who sent me this for free so that I can check it out and give you all my honest feedback.

Here are my first impressions: When you get it out of the box, it feels like a solid, sturdy feeder and it has a nice and clean design.

There’s not much to do to put it together or take it apart when you want to refill or clean it. First, put the desiccant pouch in the box of the food lid.

Then, just fill up the food tank, which has a pretty large capacity, and place it on the feeder base.

Secure the food tank with the switches on both sides and DONE!  The lid, by the way, can’t just be taken off. You gotta push down the open button. And there’s a GOOD reason for that. With that open button and the side switches you can be sure that your smart little furry family members can’t just toss over the feeder and devour all food in one sitting.

Also, the lid is very tight, which is part of the triple-sealed design to make sure the food stays fresh and is protected from bugs.

The power switch is on the bottom of the feeder base – don’t mix it up with the button in the front of the feeder. That’s a button to manually provide a food portion if you press it twice.

You definitely want to download the Homerunpet Smart Feeder app. With that, you can feed your cat or dog on-the-go quickly. Either hit the “feed now” button or create a meal plan so that everything is set up for the whole week at specific times of the day. You can also adjust the number of portions you’d like to provide.

Since some cats or dogs can be allergic to plastics, the standard version of this pet feeder comes with a stainless-steel bowl. And if your pet is allergic to stainless steel then  there is a solution for that as well since the founder of Homerunpet went to visit a variety of porcelain shops in China to create a healthier eating experience for pets. And tada you can now upgrade to a beautiful, fine, and delicate handcrafted Chinese Porcelain tray, which meets food safety standards.

When it comes to food, it’s pretty much effortless. You can fill up the feeder with most dry pet foods. Homerunpet promises that nothing gets clogged or stuck in that impeller. And for as long as we’ve been using it nothing got stuck. They actually did a stress test with this feeder to deliver 225 hours continuously and it passed with no clogging issue, which is pretty impressive since most of the ones I’ve tried before clog up at some point, especially, if you use freeze-dried food.

So you don’t have to worry that it won’t work when you’re gone.  You can use dry food, freeze-dried food, puffed food or air-dried food, as long as the food pellets aren’t bigger than 15 mm.

You can leave the feeder plugged in or place it anywhere when you add 4 D batteries. And, according to Homerunpet, the feeder has an extended battery life, meaning you don’t have to worry about constant recharging, which is good.

When it comes to disassembly and cleaning, it’s really easy. You can take it apart with a couple of steps and make sure it all stays nice and clean.

One more thing I’d like to mention is the food bowl, which is at a 7-degree angle, which is perfect for them to eat comfortably.

That’s pretty much all I can say about it. All in all, the quality of this feeder is great and our cats can’t wait for the next meal to be released. I love it. If you want to check it out for yourself, then simply click here.
